Sometimes you just have to laugh...
On the flipside of the disappointment thread, how many times have you been in a group where everything went wrong, and people probably had every right to ragequit... but instead they found the humor in the situation?
[really long story]
About a month after the release of Nightfall, I was doing Iron Mines of Moladune with a PUG. The area was deserted as people were still pretty excited about NF, which none of us had. We were a pretty hastily put-together group, all low-level guys and uninfused wammos. I think our monks were both hench. I had never done it before and was blissfully unaware of any wiki help. Anyway, the mission took absolutely forever because this one level 13 mesmer in the party just kept on dying. He had 60% DP by the time we reached the seige area, and he never regained any after that. Still, we were a pretty easygoing group, all mostly unfamiliar with the mission, and we plowed onward.
We talked and joked while we crawled up the mountain toward the seer, making fun of the chronically dead mesmer who hadn't said a word all the time. We got our infusions, headed toward the mission end, and somehow got so lost we probably would have ended up in Elona if the game had let us. To this day I don't know WHERE the hell we went. Finally we found Markis and decided that, as fun as it all had been, the bonus would probably wipe us and we'd better just end it all. The mesmer was one-shot KO'ed when we attacked the Mursaat reinforcements, and as we picked off the Jades and took down Markis we all cheerfully complimented him on his skills and asked how much for the awesome run. He replied with the only thing he'd said in all the time we'd been playing: "pro here".
The whole thing should have been an obnoxious, nooby failure, but we just laughed off the accidental overaggros and hung together. I haven't been in a group since then, friends excluded, that has put up with that much difficulty without a single ragequit or "omfg noobs wtf is rong w/u".
[/really long story]
So, what about the rest of you? Ever been able to look past the SRS BZNSS and find something funny in an awful situation?

Something like that happened to me in Iron Mines of Moladane. The Necro had a horrible build, none of us were infused, and I was trying to go by the wiki map (which I didn't use for part of it so we were lost for a while). We took down quite a few Mursaat down uninfused, but the necro got to 60% dp and I told them I knew how to get infusion (after opening wiki). Well they didn't really trust me at first but eventually we got it, and then I wasn't sure where to go after that. We ended up going back and through all the Mursaat camps, though infused this time. We actually completed it though (after a few more deaths).

I've unfortunately never been in a party where everyone was laughing about our disastrous attempt. There was always someone slipping closer to a temper tantrum. My role was sometimes to push them over the edge.
Somebody got to do it!
And sometimes people getting angry is funny and it has to be made even funnier.

God, yes. I do that in AB. Pick one person, insult them until you're the only one they come after, and watch as their sin flails around like a rag doll against my dual-attunement spiker. Angry ppl FTW (literally, in some cases)
Oh, and I also like it when you piss off monks and they say "Oh, yeah, well, let's just see how you do without any healing!" Beautiful.

I don't make fun of my opponents though, just people I'm supposed to be working with who are getting bent out of shape over things going wrong, instead of simmering down to handle what's going wrong.
I don't even make fun of opponents who are making fun of me!
I can't learn much from opponents who are consumed with anger. They may be easier to beat, but I never got any better from playing them.

not funny....but it shows how stubborn we can sometimes be....
after finishing HoS the group I was in decided to try the next one....well along the way we lost people who thought it was just tooo hard...leaving me (a rit) a necro with his hero monk ogden, a warrior with dunky (who got dc'd while we fought by the norn)....and another guy---paragon ....so we had a group of 5 with 3 real people.....we all had the prereq -60 dp and were having a horrible time with the destroyers....well we just wouldnt give up. We talked and decided to kill one off at a time. So we run forward, monks die...necro swiftly follows, I get a spirit up....and we do almost no damage to the destroyers. We finally decided we needed to get the golems up and running again, and after another hour or so finally wiped the group out, one at a time.
We made it to the final room...but seeing as our warrior got dc'd we lost the extra monk at the door---so that left us with 4 people, one being a useless hero monk. We were able to clear one side and got a few more destroyers, but alas after another hour we decided it was hopeless to try and finish the boss (we couldnt even get near him).....so after about 3+ hours of trying we all 'gg' 'thanks' 'ty' 'we tried'.....and went to bed (it was 5am my time)....
not a laughing story, but if you had watched us try to run to get the golems up you would have been rolling on the floor in tears!!!
I had a great time even though we didnt finish the quest!

I love pugging.
Despite all the "omgfailzors noobs" that end up in my group every now and then, I've met all my friends in gw through pugs.
Even though my funny story isn't exactly too funny for others.
I was helping out some low levels in Ruins of Surmia I think, when I started lagging a bit. I was talking to my boyfriend and just kept Blood of the Mastering because my stupid minions weren't getting healed and it was irritating me.
Lagspike ends and I'm on the floor dead. Then my minions eat the people I was helping, right right RIGHT towards the end of the mission. I felt bad, but they couldn't help but crack up.

Was doing team arenas the other day and we STILL saw some nutters going in a W/Mo with Healing Hands and all the other junk.
At the end of the streamrolling, my buddy typed "i herd wammos arr gud" or something like that. Almost fell off my chair laughing, not to mention we were on Teamspeak so I laughed double from their comments.

Usually doing dungeons with a group is quite humorous, because funny things tend to happen to us in them. We don't rage and blame each other, or any crap like that...I mean why bother playing if you aren't going to have fun doing it?
First time doing Frostmaws...random group (all of who, including me, were clueless), no consumables, etc. Yeeeeah, needless to say it was an interesting experience. Suprisingly though, no ragers, no asses. Instead we found our incredibly rough time to be very funny. >_>

If you get angry at people in a game, you have issues.

2 Histories.
I was in Gate of Spartaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamadness. I was grouping with some players, and the pug was finally : 2 wammos, 1 warrior ( me) 3 dervishes and 3 monks ( Dunkie was one). Well, we reached the Temple of the Six Gods, and then we were talking about the aggroer of the Shiro´ken. Then, one wammo rushed, and we followed him. We killed the Big and Ugly Claws, and those monsters. Then, the wammo followed up to the top of the temple, and we went after him.
Obviosuly, a battle started. We fought against some Shirokén that were healing themselves. I found the Monk, and killed it. Then, I found the Rit, and killed it. But the monster continued healing themselves.
Obviosuly, the party was wiped, but, when I died, I pointed to the survivor wammo and then I saw the reason of the Shiro´ken inmortality:
``The wammo is using [skill]Heal Area[/skill]´´
And I have other histories. For example, Fort Aspenwood. If you though that AB was an epic fail, go for this. Here I found an assassin than believed that the Deep Wound was useless.

9 people in a group? New bug, or can't you count?
6 melee is doomed to fail. Anymore then 1 is pointless. Even then most the time I rarely bring any melee chars, seems pointless.

I don't play in PUG's very often any more, but I remember when Factions first came out and everyone was complaining about how hard Vizunah was, I went there and Pugged it. I was on the foreign side. We fight our way down to Togo and apparently a lot of the Local people had died while defending Togo on the first part and they rage quit. So we were down to 8 people on this seemingly super hard (at the time) mission. We gutted it out and managed to beat it with just the 8 of us. Was a lot of fun!
